(Senior) Events Manager (m/f/d) – Global Fellowship Program | Parental Leave Cover

Berlin
Part-time
Fixed-term

Your mission

The DO School Fellowships gGmbH is a non-profit organization based in Berlin, Germany. Our core mission is to offer training and fellowship programs to empower young people globally to launch projects addressing global and local challenges around the environment and society. With our work, we are training the next generation of impact entrepreneurs in innovative educational and fellowship programs.

The project you would be working on at The DO School Fellowships is beVisioneers - a global fellowship that supports young changemakers building ventures for a more sustainable planet. Our events bring Fellows, experts and partners together to connect, learn and turn ideas into action.

As (Senior) Events Manager, you will shape these moments, from our flagship Global Summit to the international ecosystem events where our Fellows present their work. You will report to the Ecosystem Development Director and work closely with our Regional Leads and the Program and Operations teams.

This position covers a colleague's parental leave and is fixed-term until their return, expected after 12-18 months.

Owned Events:

beVisioneers Global Summit, 13–16 April 2027

You will Co-lead the Summit. It is a highlight of our year, bringing 200+ Fellows and experts from around the world together to connect, pitch and advance their ventures.

  • Plan and deliver the Global Summit together with your co-lead

  • Manage vendors and freelancers from diverse cultural contexts, including travel agencies, procurement and contracts

  • Own and maintain the Summit budget

  • Lead clear, timely and high-quality communication with participants, including Fellows and high-profile stakeholders

  • Coordinate internal team members who design and facilitate parts of the programme

Ecosystem Events:

ChangeNow 2027, 26-28 April 2027 in Paris

You will lead our ChangeNOW participation end-to-end and identify and manage further ecosystem events throughout the year.
  • Own beVisioneers' participation in ChangeNOW 2027, from Fellow selection through to onsite delivery
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of relevant events across our Fellows' regions, assessing each for strategic fit and setting budgets
  • Select the right Fellows for each event together with the team
  • Manage Fellow preparation, onboarding and follow-up for event participation
  • Coordinate Fellow travel for all ecosystem events with the Operations team

Across all events

  • Set up feedback loops so we learn quickly and keep improving for Fellows, partners and the team
  • Maintain events data in Notion and HubSpot, including registrations, communications and tracking
  • Design key event processes that feed into the department's wider ecosystem strategy

Supporting the wider team

  • Collect data on programme KPIs with the Ecosystem Development Director and Operations Lead
  • Provide administrative support to the Ecosystem Development Director on ecosystem-building work

Your profile

To thrive and grow in this role, you will likely be:

  • Experienced in events management with diverse participants across multiple cultures

  • Adept at managing budgets and vendors

  • Comfortable scouting and evaluating global events (like ChangeNOW) for strategic fit with our Fellows' needs

  • Skilled in stakeholder management, including high-profile stakeholders and co-leads — with the written, visual and verbal skills to convince stakeholders of the value of your work, not just coordinate with them

  • Able to work with the team to assess and select participants against clear criteria, and support their preparation and follow-up (upskilling, onboarding, offboarding)

  • Able to optimize workflow for yourself and others using tech platforms (Notion, HubSpot, etc.)

  • Fluent in written and verbal English and comfortable in German, with additional languages as a bonus

… And will likely have:

  • 4+ years' experience managing large-scale, multi-workstream events end-to-end

  • Experience leading an external, high-visibility event independently, not just supporting one

  • Setup and run efficient, scalable events processes

  • Experience coordinating with an operations function on travel logistics for program participants

  • A self-directed approach to working in an evolving environment

  • Collaborative, empathetic, and efficient habits, with the self-motivation to also motivate others

Why us?

Why join The DO School Fellowships?

  • We are a purposeful organization with a global reach working to make an impact, where purpose, passion, and your ideas matter.
  • You will work with an entrepreneurial, creative, and international team as well as a global community of purposeful DOers from over 100 countries.

Benefits include:

  • 30 days of paid leave annually (based on a five-day working week)
  • Company pension scheme ("Betriebliche Altersvorsorge")
  • Possibility for mobile work (up to 50% of the working time)
  • Possibility for remote work, also outside of Germany, for up to six weeks in total annually
  • Regular team offsites, team events and parties
  • Employee Benefits like Urban Sports Club or shopping vouchers
