About The DO School Fellowships
The DO School Fellowships gGmbH is a non-profit organization based in Berlin, Germany. Our core mission is to offer training and Fellowship programs to empower young people globally to launch projects addressing global and local challenges around environment and society. With our work, we are training the next generation of impact entrepreneurs in innovative educational and Fellowship programs.
The project you would be working on at The DO School Fellowships is beVisioneers - a three-year, global environmental Fellowship that equips thousands of innovators, aged 16 to 28, with the training, expert support and resources to bring their planet-positive projects to life.
As the Community Programming Lead, you will oversee the strategy and tangible results of weaving and nurturing of an inclusive, values-driven hybrid fellowship community. You will be responsible for iterating and scaffolding a strategy that supports engagement amongst thousands of fellows and mentors across all three fellowship years. You will lead a regionally-oriented fellow-facing team in designing and implementing in-person and online scalable community program components and initiatives that encourage fellow and mentor participation, sharing, networking, and impact.
About the role
You will own...
Lead, guide and mentor a global team of Regional Program Managers to support Local Hub Ambassadors and other fellow community leaders, cultivating local engagement, and instituting scalable systems for peer support among fellows through online platforms and in-person events.
Drive the development of global decentralized governance frameworks that align with beVisioneers community values, code of conduct and practices, while also enabling local autonomy, ownership, and a shared sense of belonging across regions at scale.
Ensure that the multiple regional summit events (up to 200 participants each) and quarterly local hub city events build local and national innovation ecosystems for fellow and mentor bonding, collaboration, learning, and community spirit
Iterate and oversee the implementation of inclusive online fellow community engagement strategies across digital platforms, championing a seamless hybrid community experience.
Oversee the Regional Program Managers’ execution of a partnerships strategy with key local and regional stakeholders, including environmental sustainability organizations, youth innovation, philanthropies, venture building and industry organizations.
Lead evaluation and reporting on community engagement and outcomes, ensuring all community initiatives are data-driven, meet impact goals, and continuously improve based on fellow feedback.
… and support
Act as a sparring partner with other Leads on strategy, OKRs, impact planning, ways of working and team dynamics, collaborating closely with the Director to steer the team toward shared goals.
Support the design and facilitation of development workshops and regional and local community events online and in-person
Serve as the final case manager for high-risk cases involving breaches of the community charter, supporting Regional Program Managers in addressing risks and mediating with fairness and empathy. Act as the guardian of the community charter, ensuring alignment with its principles.
Representing the organization to relevant Regional partners and community stakeholders
In this role, you will work closely with all Regional Program Managers and the other Learning and Community Team Leads.
This is what you can expect… In the first month, you will complete your onboarding, learn the core operations of beVisioneers, and establish key relationships with the program, governance, and regional teams. You will familiarize yourself with the full scope of the fellowship and provide first-impression feedback to community engagement strategies, and decentralized governance models, contributing to the early design of community structures for all years of the fellowship. After three months, you will have played a key role in launching the fellowship’s year-round ‘scaled-up’ community engagement and governance strategy, ensuring that in the strategy, all Year 1-3 fellows are well-supported. You will refine the organisation's approach to managing risk cases, and contribute to the planning and preparation of impactful in-person events for fellows. After six months, you will be actively managing and iterating on programming across all years, ensuring seamless integration and engagement of fellows from Year 1 through Year 3. You will have led a team in the execution of multiple in-person events. You will serve as the go-to expert for community governance, working closely on strategy and implementation with Regional Program Managers and implementing continuous improvement practices based on feedback. After one year, you will be leading efforts to scale the beVisioneers fellowship community management, refining community engagement and governance frameworks to ensure they support a global, planet-positive network. |
